Spam Honeypot Project

After hearing about the Great Spam Archive on Slashdot the other day (11/14/03), and then realizing that I get a nearly equivalent amount of spam, I decided to make public my archive of spam for anyone who might be interested in it.

When thinking about it, I also realized that my personal spam was probably tainted by my online activities over the years. Thus, I decided to set up a honeypot address, honeypot@schnarff.com, to see what kind of mail it would attract. I will never do anything with this account but post its address on web pages and use it to collect spam, so hopefully the data I collect from its spam will be scientifically useful. Its archive will be available soon.
