NetBSD/Dreamcast Binary Packages
I've been a user of the NetBSD/Dreamcast port for serveral months now, and have found it to be a very useful little application for this otherwise obsolete piece of gaming hardware.
Compared to the Linux Dreamcast people, though, NetBSD/Dreamcast is rather backwards. Since I have a fondness for BSDs in general -- I learned UNIX with OpenBSD -- I'd like to see this corrected. The only way to do this, however, is by generating more interest in the port.
To that end, I'm doing what I can to make NetBSD/Dreamcast more inviting for the average user, so as to generate interest in it. As stated on my home page, I rewrote the FAQ and HOWTO to make them more accessible/thorough; now, I'm in the process of building up a set of binary packages for use with the Dreamcast, something which every major NetBSD port has. After all, I know most people won't want to deal with compiler errors, they just want things to work.
Currently available packages are at http://guinness.cs.stevens-tech.edu/~jschauma/netbsd/dreamcast/ (I'd host them, but I only have 128K of upstream bandwidth). More will be coming soon, and once the NetBSD team verifies I'm not trying to backdoor anyone, they'll be up on ftp.netbsd.org and mirrors.
Also, you can check out my package status page to see what's going on with your favorite package right now. If you want a copy of something that's not at the link above, or want to get details on an error, feel free to e-mail me and I'll provide you with what I can.
